Purchasing of Wheelchair

Introduction:

The National Federation of the Deaf Nepal (NDFN) is a national-level umbrella organization established in 1995 to advocate for the rights of people with hearing impairments, including Deaf, Deafblind, and others with complex disabilities. NDFN is planning to distribute wheelchairs for the beneficiaries of the project “DID TO53- Inclusive education project” supported by Sense International UK. For the distribution of the wheelchair, a technical assessment has been already completed. Hereby, NDFN invites open call Expressions of Interest (EOI) from external vendors/ companies / related service providers for purchasing the wheelchair based on the specifications and standards given.

Scope of Work:

The project requires 18 numbers of wheelchairs as per the specifications and standards below:

Specification and standard of the wheelchair

· Adjustable seat depth, footrest height and angle, backrest height and angle to provide a customized fit.

· Foldable for ease of storage and transportation.
Medium sized castor wheels to help maneuver over uneven terrain.

· Extra thick inner tubes to reduce the risk of punctures.

· Tension adjustable fabric seat upholstery for comfort and postural support.

· Choice of safe or active rear wheel positions.

· Available pre-assembled or can be re-adjusted to four-seat widths.

· Designed to provide at least five years of service during normal use, providing it is appropriately maintained.

· Safe or active rear wheel position

· Comes with pressure relieving cushion

· Pressure relief cushion

· Certification: ISO/CE certified

Wheelchairs of the mentioned specification or similar specifications without compromise in quality and standard are accepted.

The scope of work includes:

Making available of the wheelchair as per the above information.
Transportation of the wheelchair to Chitwan
Quality standards must be maintained during the whole process.
Make availability of the spare parts and technical person for the maintenance.

Timeline:

The entire work should be completed within 30 to 45 days of the date of agreement.

Eligibility and Submission Requirements:

To be eligible for this opportunity, interested consultants/companies must meet the following criteria:

Must be a registered company with legal documentation (Company registration, VAT, Latest Tax clearance).
Should possess previous experience in working in the field of assistive devices like wheelchairs and another relevant fields.

Evaluation Criteria:

The submitted expressions of interest will be evaluated based on previous experience, price and quality assurance.

Submission Details:

Interested parties are requested to submit their expressions of interest by the 18th of October 2023 at admin@deafnepal.org.np

The submission should include the following:

A cover letter expressing the intent to participate and highlighting relevant experience.
Company profile and legal documentation (Company registration, VAT, Latest Tax clearance).
Portfolio showcasing previous work on assistive devices and wheelchairs.
Proposed timeline for completing the whole process of purchasing a wheelchair.
Cost estimate for the entire project, including all the charges.
