The Government of Nepal will run health insurance and social security programs with the contribution of persons with disabilities to enable persons with disabilities to lead independent and self-reliant lives in the society.
Under the social security program, monthly living allowance amount will be provided to the persons with disability as prescribed by the Government of Nepal.
Unemployed persons with deaf and dumb disability from poor families will also be provided unemployment allowance as prescribed by the Government of Nepal.
Currently, a deaf person with a blue disability identity card receives a monthly social security allowance of Rs 1,600 from the local level. This right is mentioned in the Disability Rights Rules 2077.
